Stop #37: Asbury Park, New Jersey

To get to New Jersey we crossed the Delaware Bay in a ferry. We got out of our car to see the ocean below and get some snacks. It was a fairly quick ride, about 40 minutes.

In New Jersey we stopped at Asbury Park.

The town was founded in 1871 and was one of the biggest vacation destinations until the mid-20th century. It is still full of historic buildings that look really grand!

We ate at a restaurant and went to the beach. While walking to the beach we saw the old carousel and casino that used to be there.

We couldn’t go inside the buildings though; they were closed. We swam for about an hour and then drove home!
